Insulated and water-resistant jackets allow you to keep liquids in IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers) warmer for longer periods of time once active heating has stopped and/or to reduce the risk of the product becoming too cold and viscous.
These jackets are suitable for a large range of liquids and chemicals and are available in standard and waterproof versions. The standard jacket is water-resistant: however, over time moisture may ingress through the stictching so it is primarily designed for use inside or to protect contents during transport. The waterproof version can be used outside.
Please note, jackets of this nature cannot prevent freezing: they simply reduce the speed of heat loss. Their rating is akin to a TOG 9 duvet. At ambient temperature when filling, heat loss is equivalent to ¼º C per hour: after 12 hours heat loss increases to ½ºC per hour.
